Dams and water storage
Cut, shaped and contoured to hold water and shed the wet season without scouring out. Batters graded so they stay put once the rain arrives.

Beau-Con Earthworks has been cutting dams, forming driveways, shaping pads and getting water off blocks across the Douglas Shire for more than fifteen years. Everything we build gets set up for the rain that is coming, not the weather on the day we hand it over.

What we do
From a single trench on a tight block to bulk cut and fill for a builder, it is the same crew and the same standard. We are not daunted by hard to do jobs, and we back our work.
Cut, shaped and contoured to hold water and shed the wet season without scouring out. Batters graded so they stay put once the rain arrives.
Surface drains, swales, subsoil lines and rock protection. Getting water off a block properly is most of what keeps a driveway or a pad alive up here.
Formed up, road base laid, levelled and contoured so the surface still reads true after a heavy year, not just on handover day.
Cut and fill, benching into a slope, compacted pads set to level and ready for the slab crew to walk straight onto.
Tight, accurate digs on established blocks, working around gardens, services and finished paving without wrecking the place getting in.
Service trenches, conduit runs and stormwater, cut clean and backfilled properly so nothing has to be dug up twice.
Structures taken down, concrete slabs broken out and carted, sites cleared back to a workable pad ready for whatever comes next.
Bulk cut and fill, site preparation and general earthmoving for builders and developers across the shire.

A driveway, a pad or a dam in the Douglas Shire is really a drainage job with something built on top of it. Get the fall, the road base and the rock right and it holds. Get it wrong and the first big December rain takes it away.
That is where the detail goes on every job we quote, whether it is a domestic driveway or a bulk civil site.

Beau-Con Earthworks is a family owned and operated business based at Craiglie, just south of Port Douglas. Beau has been working the ground here for more than fifteen years, so the crew already know what the soil does on the ranges, what it does on the flats, and what happens to both of them in February.
We pride ourselves on high quality work that will last. We have a sharp eye for detailed work and we are not daunted by hard to do jobs. When we finish something, we back it.

On the beaches, 2025
When Maritime Safety Queensland ran its beach replenishment works through the Douglas region in 2025, around 45,000 cubic metres of sand had to come out of the rehandling facility at Killaloe and go back onto beaches that storms had stripped. The work ran from August to late September, in close consultation with Douglas Shire Council.
The contract went to us. Cook MP David Kempton described it at the time as a job for a local contractor based in Craiglie, and called it a boost for local jobs and for keeping investment in the region.
It is the same plant and the same crew that will turn up to cut a house pad or a farm dam. The scale changes. The standard does not.

What we run
Big machines for bulk cut and fill, small ones for the jobs where getting in and out without wrecking a garden matters more than bucket size. We float our own gear, so mobilising to your site is not somebody else’s schedule.

Working around what is already there
Established blocks come with services, paving, gardens and neighbours. Most of the skill in this trade is getting the machine where it needs to be and leaving the rest of the place exactly as you found it.

What people say
Beau and his crew improved my entry road, adding road base, levelling and contouring it to ensure it would stand up to the heavy rain events. May 2025. Now "Jan 2026" after the rain in Dec and Jan the road is as good as I could have hoped. He now has all my work going forward. Quality Work ✓ Reasonable Cost ✓ On time ✓ Helpful Advice ✓
Beau is highly efficient and knowledgeable. He helped me out of a tough situation quickly and without any fuss. His team knew exactly what they were doing, and the whole process ran smoothly. Easily the best experience I've had with a contractor in the region.
